The Taş Medrese is one of the buildings bearing traces of Maraş's scholarly life in the Middle Ages; its dating differs according to sources. With its rooms arranged around a courtyard and its stonework, it is one of the important parts of the historic city center. Like most of the historic buildings in the city center, it is in the area affected by the 2023 earthquakes. Its current restoration and use status is not clear in sources.
