Its story
The Kalekapı Rock Tomb is one of the best known of the rock tombs in Kastamonu and is carved into a steep rock near the village of Donalar. Dated, like similar examples in the region, to the Paphlagonian period, the tomb's facade is arranged with a columned entrance and reliefs. The rock tombs are interpreted as family tombs built for high-status individuals. A short but steep climb on the rocky slope is needed to reach the tomb. It can be reached with a short detour on the way from Taşköprü toward Kastamonu.
