Atatürk House Museum
Meram, Konya
A two-story historic building from 1912 where Atatürk stayed on his visits to Konya; a house museum displaying his personal belongings.
Its story
The house on Atatürk Caddesi was built in 1912 of cut stone, rubble stone and brick and was used for many years as the governor's residence. It was allocated to Atatürk on his visits to Konya; in 1928 it was presented to him as a gift by the people of Konya, and this was noted on its title deed. It opened as a museum in 1964 and was rearranged in 1981. The rooms display Atatürk's personal belongings, clothes, photographs and furniture of the period.
