A geographically indicated melon with a green-and-yellow striped rind, famous for its long keeping quality.
Its story
The Kırkağaç melon is known for its green-and-yellow striped rind and pale green flesh. It ripens about 110 days after planting and keeps much longer than other melon varieties. Granted a geographical indication in Türkiye in 2008, the melon was later also registered in the European Union.
