The GAP Waterfall, about 3.6 km from the Derik district center, and the 527-decare area around it were declared a nature park by Nature Conservation and National Parks on 17 November 2017; the provincial directorate of culture and tourism presents the area as Türkiye's 223rd nature park. Where water and greenery come together in Mardin's arid plain climate, the area is a resting spot for the people of the district and visitors from surrounding provinces. Derik can be reached by public transport from central Mardin; as there is no public transport from the district to the park, a private car or taxi is needed.
