Its story
The museum, operating in its new, spacious building, presents works from excavations in and around Mersin in a chronological arrangement. The Neolithic finds from Yumuktepe, pottery from Tarsus Gözlükule, Roman-period statues, mosaics and coins are the collection's highlights. Visiting before touring the ancient cities makes it easier to grasp the history of the region as a whole.
