Its story
Koca Katran is a monumental prickly juniper (Juniperus oxycedrus) at the Dümbelek Pass of the Cocokdere valley in the Taurus Mountains, at an altitude of 1,875 meters. The tree is 40 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 7.5 meters; according to the sign on site, it is about 625 years old. It was registered as a natural monument on 27 September 1994. The nearest settlements are Arslanköy and Tırtar, attached to the Toroslar district.
