Olba Aqueduct

A two-story Roman aqueduct 25 m high, built in 199 in the time of Septimius Severus.
Its story
The Olba Aqueduct is about 4 km east of Uzuncaburç (Diocaesarea), in ancient Olba, the center of the Olba kingdom. According to its inscription, it was built in 199, in the time of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, in the name of 'the inhabitants of the city of Olba', and repaired in 566 in the time of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I. The two-story aqueduct reaches a height of 25 meters and crosses the valley for about 150 meters; it brought water from the springs of the Limonlu (Lamas) Çayı to the northeast.
