Saint Anthony Latin Catholic Church
Akdeniz, Mersin
A Catholic church built in the second half of the 19th century, whose bell tower is also known as the Mersin Clock Tower.
Its story
Construction of the church began in the 1850s, and the building was completed at the end of the 1890s. Bearing traces of the presence of European merchants and Levantine families in the city, the church is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua. The tower in its garden functions both as a bell tower and as the city's clock tower. The church is still open for services today.
