Village and rural life
Eski Datça (Old Datça)
Datça, Muğla
The oldest settlement on the Datça Peninsula, with bougainvillea-covered stone houses and narrow streets.
Its story
Eski Datça is one of the rare places on the peninsula that have been continuously inhabited since antiquity. Houses with stone walls and wooden doors and narrow streets adorned with bougainvillea give the village its character. The house and streets where the writer Can Yücel spent his last years attract visitors. A few kilometers from central Datça, the village is small enough to explore on foot.
