Fethiye Castle (Castle of the Knights)

The remains of a medieval castle on the hill above Fethiye, associated with the Knights of Rhodes.
Its story
The castle stands on the hill above the slope with the rock tombs and is popularly known as the Castle of the Knights (Şövalyeler Kalesi). It is accepted that there was a fortification on the site from antiquity, and that most of the present walls date from the Middle Ages. Although the remains are limited, the hilltop offers a wide view of the Gulf of Fethiye and the city. It is reached by a short but steep climb.
