Hafsa Sultan Caravanserai
Marmaris, Muğla
A small 16th-century caravanserai at the foot of Marmaris Castle, now used as a bazaar.
Its story
The Hafsa Sultan Caravanserai is a 16th-century Ottoman building north of Marmaris Castle and the harbor. It is known to take its name from Hafsa Sultan, mother of Süleyman the Magnificent. The small rooms surrounding its stone courtyard are now used as shops. It can easily be added to a stroll through the old-town streets.
