A natural sandbar stretching toward the middle of Orhaniye bay, famous for the experience of 'walking on water'.
Its story
Kızkumu formed as the rocks surrounding the village of Orhaniye gradually broke down and the sand and gravel carried by floodwaters accumulated. A shallow sandbar about 3 meters wide stretches toward the middle of the bay. From a distance, people walking on the bar look as if they are walking on water. In local folklore, the sandbar is linked to the legend of a young girl who tried to cross the sea with sand carried in her skirt.
