A two-story historic caravan han with galleries in central Muğla, restored and converted into a cultural center.
Its story
Konakaltı Han is one of the commercial hans on the caravan route passing through Muğla; its ground floor was arranged as stables and storage, and its upper floor as rooms where merchants stayed. Over time the building also took on different functions such as a printing house, a hotel and a cinema. Restored faithfully to its original by the municipality, the han now hosts exhibitions and events as the Konakaltı İskender Alper Cultural Center. It is within walking distance of the Muğla Museum.
