Milas Museum
Milas, Muğla
A museum displaying finds from Stratonikeia, Iasos, Beçin and Hydai, along with examples of local carpets.
Its story
The Milas Museum was founded in 1987 and occupies a two-story building with a garden. Most of the displayed artifacts come from the excavations at Stratonikeia, Iasos, Damlıboğaz (Hydai) and Beçin. Alongside the archaeological finds, the ethnography section features Milas carpets and local handicrafts. It is a good starting point before touring the city's ancient and beylik-period buildings.
