Its story
Tlos was founded on a high rock overlooking the Eşen Valley and is thought to be mentioned in Hittite sources as Dalawa. The temple-fronted rock tombs carved into the slope of the acropolis, especially the tomb with the Bellerophon relief, are the city's symbol. Below lie the remains of the stadium, theater, baths and agora. At the top of the hill are also traces of the castle built in the Ottoman period by Kanlı Ali Ağa, the local notable (ayan) of the region. Because it is close to Saklıkent Canyon, both can be visited on the same day.
