Its story
The mosque at the southwest end of the Halil-ür Rahman Lake is held to have been built over the spot where the Prophet Abraham is believed to have fallen into the fire, and is also called 'Makam-ı İbrahim' (Station of Abraham). The building is accepted as having been built at the beginning of the 13th century in the Ayyubid period; together with its square-shafted minaret and the adjoining madrasa, it forms a complex. The view from the arcaded courtyard over the lake and the silhouette of the minaret reflected in the water are among the most photographed images of Balıklıgöl.
