Its story

The Çınçınlı Sultan Hanı is an Anatolian Seljuk caravanserai within the boundaries of the Saray neighborhood, attached to Saraykent. It is known to have been commissioned in 1240–1241 by Mahperi Hatun, wife of Sultan Alâeddin Keykubad I and mother of Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II. The rectangular-plan building, oriented east–west, is built of rubble stone and Horasan mortar in the herringbone technique. In sources it also appears under the names 'Çimcimli', 'Sarayköyü' and 'Sarayözü'. Its west wall has completely collapsed and its interior is buried under fill; the building is today a ruin in need of protection.
