Its story
In the old neighborhoods on the northern and western foothills of the castle, between the Ulu Mosque and the Mevlevihane, traditional Afyon houses are seen in large numbers. These houses, with stone ground floors and projecting wooden upper floors with bay windows, line narrow, sloping streets. Some have been restored and are used as mansions, cafés or cultural houses. A short walk before or after the castle climb gives a feel for Afyon's old urban fabric.
