Buldan Historic Houses and Weaving Bazaar
Buldan, Denizli
A district center on a mountainside known for its old houses with bay windows and the geographically indicated Buldan cloth woven on looms.
Its story
Buldan is a town built on a slope surrounded by mountains on three sides that has lived from weaving for centuries. The cotton, silky Buldan cloth unique to the district is registered with a geographical indication; the bazaar is lined with shops selling peştemal (hammam towels), covers and clothing. Traditional houses with timber projections still stand in its narrow streets. The Ministry's touring routes recommend central Buldan, with its historic houses and weaving bazaar, as a separate stop.
