Its story
The complex was first founded as an Ahi lodge (tekke) in the Ottoman period by Hacı Abdullah Halife; it is stated that the mosque was built in the 15th century and the other buildings completed in the 16th century (the dates 1468 and 1486 appear in sources). Sultan Selim I supported the complex with endowment income during his time as sanjak bey of Trabzon and as sultan; the decree of Suleiman the Magnificent and documents belonging to the endowment are displayed at the complex. The wall decoration inside the small mosque with a pyramidal roof is considered one of the first examples of Baroque and Rococo style being used outside Istanbul. The rectangular tekke building, known as the Çepni Tekkesi, is also standing.
