Its story
The Uzun Çarşı was a commercial backbone stretching around the Ulu Mosque, where single-story shops were arranged by trade. Künefe makers, coppersmiths, and soap and spice sellers worked side by side here. After the earthquakes of 6 February 2023, most of the bazaar became unusable and the area turned into a reconstruction site. While the historic buildings are being restored in place, a large part of the tradespeople have moved to container and temporary bazaars.
